MOCHI/Each a Cup (MEAC) were crowned champions of the Bukit Ladang Basketball Championship 2012 after running away with an 81-67 victory over Roosters in the final last night at Fitness Zone in Kiulap.
Esmond Tan led the way for MEAC with 21 points while Lim Aik Hock had a strong performance with 20 points. Po Yung Hui also had a great game chipping in 16 points in the win.
Ben Sim had a game-high of 26 points to pace the Roosters, who are made up of the national squad.
Choo Yung Jian added 11 points and Lim Liang Wei contributed 10 points to the loss.
MEAC started off brightly on the defensive end, putting pressure on the Roosters' ball handler.
They were also using the high pick to score against the man-to-man defence implemented by Roosters to open up an 11-2 lead just three minutes in.
MEAC were taking the ball into the paint for high percentage shots and a buzzer beating two by Aik Hock, who had 10 points in the opening period, put them up 26-15 going into the second quarter.
