Gutsy Wildcats rip Muara United apart

WISDOM Jade Daycare Wildcats ripped Muara United apart in the second half to clinch the 2012 Manjaro Basketball Tournament with a 94-65 win on Saturday night. Though the teams were even on 15-15 after the first quarter, Muara ran out of gas as the Wildcats shifted gears to take a 37-28 lead heading into the break at the Brunei Basketball Association court in Batu Bersurat.
There was no looking back once the Wildcats opened a 10-point gap early in the third quarter with organised defence, and they enjoyed a 66-48 cushion as they entered the final stanza which really, was a mere formality.
Ganny Felicida led all scorers with 22 points and his Wildcats' teammate Geve Leones whose gutsy display lived up to his team's name powered his way to 18 points.
Don Mordeno was Muara's best scorer with 19 points but he was plagued with foul trouble and sat out most of the second and fourth quarter. Read More…
