Muara United dash Hope in semis

MUARA UNITED are through to the championship round of the Manjaro Basketball Tournament 2012 after holding on to a 74-64 victory over Hope in the semi-finals last night at the Brunei Basketball Association court in Batu Bersurat.
The result of the other semi-finals between Wisdom Jade Daycare Wildcats and Oragon was not known as of press time.
Renante Cansanay was the biggest factor, coming up with a game-high of 22 points to pace Muara United while Baltazar also had a good game with 17 points. Don Mordeno also got into double figures with 11 points in the win.
Mark Porlahe topscored for Hope with 18 points while the duo of Ferdinand Lucida and Allan Caringal contributed 11 and 10 points respectively in the loss.
Both teams got off to relative slow starts. Hope were unfortunate missing their shots early on despite getting good looks.
Muara United were also struggling on the offensive end that saw them trail 13-14 going into the second period. Read More…
