Brunei players to train with the best

IF YOU can't beat them, join them. That is exactly what the national basketball team is doing for the third quarter training programme.

The national cagers had already begun the training last week but interestingly, for the first time, the top Filipino players in the country are joining in the training sessions together with the local players.

"Some of the Filipino players in Brunei have the caliber of being in the NBL (National Basketball League) and also the ABL (Asean Basketball League). So we thought that we should take advantage of the situation that they could help make us more competitive," said Kevin Reece (Pic), the national basketball coach, in an interview with The Brunei Times, yesterday at a training session at the Multipurpose Hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas.
