Wolverines lose X power

TEAM WAYNE keep their hopes of making the semi-finals alive by barging into the win column with a 77-58 victory over Wolverines in the 2010 Yong Sok Cup at the Kampung Baru basketball court in Seria last night.
Team Wayne had a balanced offence with four players notching double figures. Majomar Aying had the game-high with 18 points to lead Team Wayne while Cheah Yong Sin contributed 15 points. Geve Leones chipped in 13 points while Kenny Lim put in 10 points in the victory.
On the other hand, Thian Lee Choy led Wolverines with 14 points and Liew San Hwa scored 12 points to a losing cause.
It was a close affair from tip off but it was Team Wayne that opened up an eight-point lead at 22-14 going into the second quarter.
Team Wayne were running the floor well and going on fastbreaks that their opponents failed to handle to outscore the Wolverines 19-6 for the quarter.
It went all down hill for the Wolverines, facing a 41-20 deficit at halftime.
