2009 Brunei Shell Recreation Club (BSRC) Open Basketball Tournament In Full Swing.

The 2009 BSRC Open Basketball Tournament will be held at the newly refurbished BSRC Basketball Outdoor Court. This is an Open invitation to Brunei residence who are interested to join organized tournament. The tournament will start on 10 October 2009. Anyone who would like to join the tournament, entry forms are available at BSRC Admin, Marilyn Cake House (KB and Seria Branch), BSP SCO Headoffice (Tel. +673 3 3374889) Dorothea or you may just download it here with the general rules. Be reminded that the last date for registration and entrance fee submission will be on the 30th of September 2009 and ONLY entries with the official form accompanied by fees are accepted. Entrance and registration fee is only $300. Medals, trophies, certificates and other attractive prizes awaits.

‘’Since the re-birth of Brunei Shell Recreation Club Basketball Section, the start of the year 2008 was indeed achieved one of the most successful dream in history. The participation of the BSP/BSRC Basketball Team in the 2008 Pesta Sukan Kebangsaan in Batu Bersurat Gadong marked a solid success to the BSRC Basketball Section and the Brunei Shell Petroleum S/B as a whole by taking home the Silver Medal. The BSRC Basketball Section would like to congratulate the Basketball team, coaching staff, officials, families, friends, BSRC Management and BSP CEA group who support for the success of the campaign.

Since then, the Basketball was busy in various events, to name a few such as: Mix and Match, Inter Asset 3 on 3 Mixed, Friendly Match against various teams and BSP contractors, Clinics, Invitational games and so on.

Year 2009 and succeeding years also promises more activities and events for the Section, Club members, BSP Staff and Contractors.

The BSRC Basketball Section has long recognized the potential of young hoopster to be develop and represent the Sultanate in future International competition. Today, in order to exploit to the full opportunities of sports excellence, BSRC Basketball Section will be organizing more events in the future. Basketball Section are regularly conducting Basketball clinics to Ladies, kids and adults who are carefully guided by experiences coaches such as Tia Siew Horng, Peng Seng Tan, Esmond Tan, Donnell Williams and Agostino Turco.

With the emphasis on the event (2009 BSRC Open Basketball Tournament), will surely bring a lot of excitement and boost the popularity of the sports and the Club. Therefore, organized tournaments, away events, clinics and others will served as an avenue for every individual to understand and learn more about the sport and thus help towards fostering cooperation and social interaction. The BSRC Basketball Section never stands idle in the shaded lane to avoid the 3 seconds violation, instead they move around and doesn't stop to dunk the ball of opportunity to the hoops as much as possible.’’
