Veterans to take part in Manila basketball tourney

THE national veteran basketball team will be competing at the 18th Asean Veteran Invitational Basketball Championships in Manila.
This was announced yesterday.
Brunei will only be competing in the 50-years-and-over category despite the championship also having the 40-years-and-over and 60-years-and-over categories due to the lack of players.
The last time Brunei competed in the tournament was in the 16th edition held in Genting Highlands, Malaysia, where they took part in the 40-years-and-over and 50-years-and-over categories but returned home empty handed losing all their games in both categories.
When asked on what they are trying to achieve in this year's tournament, Captain Khoo Eng Chong replied: "We don't really have any aims going into this tournament as we don't practice much.
"The main thing we want to do is to bridge ties and build friendly relationship with players from other countries." Read More…
