Brunei Barracudas To See Action In Oct
Bandar Seri Begawan - The local basketball scene is set to reach fever pitch as Brunei's very own professional basketball team, the Barracudas, will again be featured in the second season of the Asean Basketball League which is expected to tip off in October.
Last year, Barracudas nearly clinched a place into the playoff with a record six wins and nine losses.
Barracudas lost the final spot to the KL Dragons with only a one-point difference after losing to the Philippines Patriots 66-50 in the last game of the season.
Nadzaty Azma Azeez of Everwide Sports Company, the Barracudas team owner, during an interview yesterday said: "We are in the progress of preparation for the next season."
The team, she said will be completed as soon as possible and further news about the new team will be revealed when the team is completed.
Following the final match of the season, all the import players have returned back to their home country while the local players were released.
When asked about the new team's players and coaching staff, Nadzaty declined to comment.
The first game for the Brunei Barracudas will be in October. However the schedule of the matches has yet to be confirmed.
