Five players scored in double digits for Soon Lee-Easyway as they picked up their second win of the 2010 Sultan's Cup with a commanding 101-64 victory against Ifdhaal Enterprise last night.
Just like Tuesday night's 96-53 win against Team Wayne, Lim Liang Wei led the game in scoring with 22. He also contributed 11 rebounds, four assists, four steals and three blocks the strongest contender for the game's Most Valuable Player award if there ever was one.
Choo Yung Jian was second in scoring once again with 13 points, adding five rebounds, eight assists and six steals to the stat list at the Brunei Basketball Association court in Batu Bersurat.
Soon Kian Leong had 13 points, Muiz Abd Ghani poured in 12 and Tan Ye Wei added 10 rebounds for the team filled with players from the national side.
Lim Aik Hock also had a good all-round performance, finishing with 11 points, six rebounds, eight assists and seven steals.
Eager to bounce back after their opening day 89-82 defeat to Shark Team last Saturday, Soon Lee-Easyway did just that with a convincing 96-53 result against Team Wayne on Tuesday night.
National coach Kevin Reece believed last night's would go a long way in exorcising the demons that haunted them from that loss.
"We are still mad because we dropped our first game so we are trying to prove to ourselves (that they can play)," he said.
"It was tough because our two starters (Yap Chun Ping and Benjamin Sim) started but didn't play much, but so many guys stepped up tonight (Wednesday)."
"We took the same approach heading into Tuesday's game. We always go into games confident... If you're not confident you might as well not show up but that's not arrogance." Read More…
