THE GILR Wildcats won the battle for supremacy triumphing 80-75 against Seria Hawks last night in Group A of the second round of the 4th Manjaro Cup at the Brunei Basketball Association court in Batu Bersurat.
Wilmar Canapi put up a good performance for a game-high of 22 points to lead the Wildcats and Ronnel Sugnan added 15 points in the victory.
Ken Cabanilla and Lester Salinel each had 19 points to pace the Hawks and Lagdan chipped in 14 points in their first loss in the competition.
Despite both teams having made it into the semi-finals already, neither held anything back as they went hard at each other resulting in a high-octane match.

The Hawks were working hard on defence but the Wildcats capped off a 7-0 run to take the lead at 46-44 midway through the quarter.
The Wildcats were moving the ball well and scored from inside the paint.
