Sultan Cup postponed

THE Sultan Cup organised by the Brunei Basketball Association (BBA) in conjunction with the 63rd Birthday celebrations of His Majesty, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and scheduled to start on July 18 at the Brunei Basketball Association Court in Batu Bersurat has been postponed until further notice due to the Influenza A (H1N1) situation in the country.

Some 17 men's teams and three women's teams have registered for this year's edition of the tournament.

The Goh Kock Kee Trophy Men (6 + 6) and Women Basketball Tournament organised by the Tutong Amateur Basketball Association in conjunction with His Majesty's 63rd Birthday celebrations will also be put off until further notice for the same reason.

Vice-president of the organising committee, Soon Seng Lee, said: "I hope the tournament will not be postponed for too long."
