JEFF Paraiso put up a 37-point performance to lift Welflex Engineering to a 92-84 victory over SYSB in Group B of the Sultan's Cup at the Brunei Basketball Association court in Batu Bersurat last night.
With the match down to the wire, Paraiso scored his team's last eight points to seal the win.
"I didn't know how well I can do to score tonight (Wednesday). Was thinking to use the glass more because my right thumb is injured but I think I was just lucky," said Paraiso in an interview with The Brunei Times after the triumph.
"I thought we played well as a team but the only problem was that our defence was slow. It was good that we managed to limit (Elvin) Requintin in the second half because he was unstoppable early on," added the forward.
Welflex also had input from the duo of Don Mordeno and Marjomar Aying with 13 and 11 points respectively in the triumph. Read More…
