Wildcats' hot shots down Dragons

THE Wisdom Jade Daycare Wildcats ripped the SGTB Dragons 87-74 in Group C of the Sultan's Cup last night at the Brunei Basketball Association court in Batu Bersurat.
Contenders to the crown this year, three players hit double figures in the triumph despite the absence of Geve Leones in the lineup. Danny Felicilda had the hot hands for the Wildcats with a game-high 30 points. Jerold Pascua added 21 and captain Ronnel Rugnan poured in 18 in the victory.
The Dragons were led by Vincent Superio with 23 points. The duo of Aries Castro and Noel Grafil provided some firepower with 12 and 11 points respectively in a losing effort.
The Wildcats started the game hot and were killing their opponents on the break. They were also playing good defence to limit their opponents to only two field goals for an 18-6 lead in the opening period.
Key players Superio and Castro were inserted into the match for the Dragons then as they arrived late and they managed to pick up the pieces but were down 26-18 going into the second stanza.
The Wildcats despite playing with good chemistry saw their lead trimmed to 27-24 after three minutes into the second. However, three consecutive treys with two by Felicilda saw them back up 36-24 with four minutes to go to the break. Read More…
