R&T ELECTRONIC 'B' booked a berth in the semi-finals with a 122-71
demolition of the Glaic's Skywalkers last night in Group B of the
veterans category (35 years old and above) at the Brunei Basketball
Association (BBA) court in Batu Bersurat.
It was never a contest.R&T 'B' dominated their opponents in all departments to open up a lead as large as 20 points in the opening period. They doubled that advantage by halftime.
"Actually their key players turned up latefor the game. We opened with a strong start and led all the way," said R&T 'B' forward Adam Albert Chu after the victory.
"They cameback a little bit after their players came in the second half, but we continued to pressure them as we didn't want to become complacent."
Sonny Bautista topscored with 27 points and Ho Poh San contributed 21 in the victory.
"We still need some adjustments as Bautista hasn't played for a bit due to injury and our other player (Justin Kennedy) is still blending into the team," said Chu, when asked about their next match against SGC Palm Cafe on Sunday.
In the other match, Ilonggo Stingers were given a 30-0 win by default after Al-Ssarah Eagles failed to show up for the match.
The competition continues today with the Glaic Skywalkers taking on SGC Palm Cafe in Group B of the veterans category at 7pm.
NBT go up against Shark in Group A of the Open Category at 8pm.
