Reece calls out all female ballers
THE search is on for the cream of the country's female basketball crop
as Kevin Reece, the national basketball coach, embarks on his quest to
fill his roster ion the run up to future tournaments.
"We're trying to find the girls who can make it through practice. The main
concern is that we can not have smokers. I don't think that smokers will
be able to handle this type of intensity," said Reece, in an interview
with The Brunei Times, yesterday.
"I'll salute those who can make it through but they will have to ask themselves whether they can give it a 100 per cent physically. They will need to have the necessities in order to become better and that includes not smoking," added the national coach.
In addition to forming a squad, Reece is also looking for a suitable female assistant coach. Currently, the sessions are being handled by the duo of assistant coaches of Maxim Yap and Hj MdSofrian Hj Md Yusof
Yesterday marked the first session for a pre-evaluation of players and tomorrow is the second session from 5-7pm at the Brunei Basketball Association court in Batu Bersurat.
