Brunei To Host ASEAN Basketball Meet

Bandar Seri Begawan - Brunei will host the Asean Basketball Tournament this year where 11 countries will be participating.

 

This was announced at a Brunei Basketball Association (BBA) dinner at the Orchid Garden Hotel last night.

Organising chairman, Lim Ming Heng said: "It is good news for the BBA.

We will be organising this year's Asean Basketball Tournament (as it is our turn).

Eleven countries will be coming to Brunei.

This event gives all the players a chance to improve their basketball standards regionally. I hope the Brunei players can do their best (at the tournament)."

Present at the dinner was guest-ofhonour Dato Lim Beng Thai, chairman of BBA Goh Kim Tiam, vice chairman of BBA Lim Ting Guan and senior advisors Dr Chan Sui Kiat, Chan Eng Hong and Jackson Ting.

There was also a swearing-in ceremony and toast for new 2012-2013 BBA committee members, followed by a presentation of plaques, handed over by Dato Lim to Honorary Advisors of the BBA.
