Istana Maintenance Department keep quarter hopes alive

ISTANA Maintenance Department (IMD) kept their hopes alive on progressing into the quarter-finals of the Inter-Company NBT Basketball Tournament with an 89-69 victory over ABMS in Group A last night at the Brunei Basketball Association court in Batu Bersurat. The win was largely due to a shooting clinic put up by Aries Castro as the veteran poured in a game-high of 43 points.
Elvin Requintin was also a huge contributor with 23 points while Buboy Yu chipped in 13 points in the victory.
Alnajer Daris led the way for ABMS with 21 points while Padilla added 15 in the loss.
Castro started out hot in the first period with 14 points in the opening frame to give IMD a 25-20 lead going into the second quarter.
It remained the same affair as ABMS struggled to get back on defence in time.
Castro went full steam ahead and was going on the break to score 12 in the period.
The lead for IMD went into double figures at 48-37 at halftime.
ABMS got their act together behind their supporters and tried to slow Castro down by putting up a box-one defence. Read More…
