On-form Castro shoots IMD to next round

ISTANA Maintenance Department (IMD) qualified to the next round of the Inter-Company NBT Basketball Tournament after defeating B-mobile 89-68 in group A at the Brunei Basketball Association court in Batu Bersurat yesterday.
Aries Castro did the most damage at the offensive end for IMD pouring in a game high 27 points. Elvin Requintin had a great game scoring 20 points. Buboy Yu and Robies also recorded double figures of 10 points and 16 points respectively in the sound victory.
The game was close in the opening period, with Eugene Choo utilising his speed advantage to score seven points giving IMD an early close 17-16 lead heading into the second quarter.
IMD duo of Castro and Requintin got into the rhythm stealing the lead with only three minutes left to play in the second quarter. Both Castro and Requintin scored eight points each in the quarter to give the IMD 37-33 lead going into the third quarter.
IMD came out scoring on all cylinders extending their lead to nine points 62-53 in the third quarter, by this time B-mobile seemed to lose a bit of momentum and had plenty of difficulty knocking down their shots.
