DST in semis at SCB's cost

DST COMMUNICATIONS are through to the semi-finals of the Inter-Company NBT Basketball Tournament after they edged Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) 68-61 in their Group B match of the second round last night at the Brunei Basketball Association court in Batu Bersurat.
Tan Ye Wei was the topscorer of DST with 15 points, with all of them coming from beyond the arc in the first half. The frontcourt duo of Justin Yong and Tony Bong each notched 13 points in the victory.
On the other hand, Cavan Kong led the way for SCB with a game-high of 23 points while Ng Lit How added 18 points in a losing effort.
It was three-point fest in the opening minutes of the match with Tan connecting on his first three attempts from behind the arc for DST. On the other side, SCB were missing their layups despite attacking the paint.
DST were dominating the offensive boards but Ng kept SCB in the game with his hot shooting. DST were dealt a blow when Yong picked up his third foul in the match after just eight minutes of play allowing SCB to close in to within 17-14 going into the second quarter. Read More…
