Aewon stitch up campaign on a high against JCMK

TOURNAMENT namesakes Aewon put up an impressive showing to end their Aewon Cup 2011 Basketball Championship Tournament campaign on a high yesterday.
Aewon triumphed over JCMK 103-79 in a match-up that was tightly contested in the first three quarters before Aewon exploded in the final stanza.
Three players scored into double figures for Aewon Kenny Lim with a team high of 20 points, Koh Wee Chian with 19 and Jong How Kiat adding another 17 points.
Justin Martinez managed a game-high 27 points and both Mohd Yusri Abdullah and Wilmar Canapi contributed 14 points each in the loss at the Brunei Basketball Association court in Batu Bersurat.
Both teams came out firing on all cylinders in the first quarter, keeping the spectators on the edge of their seats in a flurry of action.
JCMK was slowly pulling away, capitalising on Aewon's turnovers to score on the break.
The latter's Koh Wee Chian, however, would hit on two consecutive three pointers to keep his team in the game with a 19-23 scoreline. Read More…
