Reece discovers winning formula

THE gold medal shows that they fit well together.
The national basketball coach Kevin Reece has chosen the best and they yesterday delivered the goods in Kota Kinabalu as advertised.
It was a long 13-year wait, but it was finally over.
The national basketball squad are finally crowned the champions of the 13th Borneo City Men's Basketball Invitational Tournament 2011 having gone undefeated at the Aug 4-6 event and much of the credit should go to Reece, who only took over at the helm at the end of 2009.
This is arguably the biggest achievement to date for the national side and the American seems to have found the right formula.
Those on the roster and making a piece of Brunei history were Ben Sim, Esmond Tan, Cavan Kong, Po Yung Hui, Kevin Tay, Kenny Lim, Choo Yung Jian, Benjamin Lim, Han Ming Kwang, Md Zainul Ashyraf Hj Hussin, Soon Kian Leong and Ching Wei Ming, who was the latest addition with Yap Chun Ping out with injury.
The national coach had said that the team were better than last year's side and his boys duly proved that yesterday. Read More…
