Barracudas ready for Tigers

AFTER coming off a 91-86 home victory over the Thailand Tigers, the Barracudas are eyeing their first back-to-back win of the Asean Basketball League (ABL) season when they visit the Tigers at the Nimibutr National Stadium in Bangkok on Sunday.
Their win last Saturday, their first at the Indoor Stadium of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas, ended a three-game slump after acquiring American import, Reggie Larry in replacement of his compatriot, seven-footer Lonnie Jones.
"He's (Larry) the import that we're looking for," said Barracudas head coach Bong Ramos after Larry led the team with 32 points and six assists.
"We got Lonnie (Jones) in the first place because of his height. We needed him for rebounding but he was only producing five to six rebounds a game."
"Lonnie is a good player but we found someone better, who is more suited to the team with energy and is a scorer. This in turn, puts Mike (Pilgrim) in his place and he showed what he could do as he produced 16 points and 15 rebounds in the last game," continued Ramos.
Ramos commented that they have always had Larry in their sights over the past three months even before the league started. Read More…
