Basketball: BSRC Open tips off today

THE Brunei Shell Recreation Club (BSRC) Five-on-Five Open tournament is set to tip off today at the Multipurpose Hall of the Mumong Sports Complex in Belait.

Organised by the BSRC's basketball committee, 11 teams divided into two groups will do battle for top honours in the inaugural competition.

Group A comprise of BSRC-Sunnybee, Ilonggo Slashers, HOB, Megalift and Gun Yen. Ilonggo Stingers, Shika, DMD, Polly Sounds Est, Easyway and Pipers make up Group B.

Arnel Aldovino, the chairman of the BSRC's basketball committee, told The Brunei Times that they would also conduct a basketball clinic for kids and women during the tournament.

The competition initially was to be held after the three-on-three tournament which was won by Freshmen in November last year but was postponed due to technical reasons.

The opening ceremony will be held at 5pm.
