BSRC Open: Winning starts for Ilonggos

THE Brunei Shell Recreational Club (BSRC) five-on-five Open basketball tournament tipped off with wins for both the Ilonggo Slashers and Ilonggo Stingers yesterday at the Multipurpose Hall of Mumong Sports Complex in Belait.
In the opening game, the favourites for Group B, Stingers thrashed Pipers 88-46.
Meanwhile, the Slashers, favourites of Group A, defeated the BSRC-Sunnybee 85-61 in the second match.
Organised by the BSRC's basketball committee, 11 teams divided into two groups will do battle for top honours in the inaugural competition.
Group A comprise of BSRC-Sunnybee, Ilonggo Slashers, HOB, Megalift and Gun Yen. Ilonggo Stingers, Shika, DMD, Polly Sounds Est, Easyway and Pipers make up Group B.
A basketball clinic for kids and women would also be conducted during the course of the competition.Present as BSRC Club President, HJ Idris Abd Gapar who deliver the Inspirational message to the participants. The tournament is headed by Arnel Aldovino the BSRC BAsketball Section Chairman who welcome all the participants.

The tournament organizers with their favorite Brunei Barracudas super star Mike Pilgrim who came with Benjamin Sim to support the tournament and they give away game tickets to the lucky fans.
