The Barracudas: Home Games & Tickets Info
After losing their opening match against the Singapore Slingers, last night saw a different battery of Barracudas after feasting on a non-fire breathing KL Dragons, winning their first. Final score 94-76.
Kiko Adriano had a stand out performance that night, scoring basket after basket when the Dragons applied the full court press. Mike Pilgrim was superb as well. He wowed the crown with his two thunderous jam. With his size and strength his dangerous on the inside but don’t leave him outside as well, he’ll knock down those 15-foot jumpers. On the defensive side, I was impressed by their performance on neutralizing the opponents imports in Jamal Brown and Chris Lynch. Coach Bong should deserve the accolades too, he made major adjustments in the rotation of the players. “No Fly Zone”, Its the message from Lonnie Jones to his opponents. I believe he swatted at least 5 shots or more that game.
The 31-year-old Jamal played in Australia and for Petronas Malaysia which won the 2008 Malaysia International Championships. The 6’5” Lynch had a stint with Perth Redbacks in Australia and was named the MVP after leading the team to their first playoff season in five years. Aside from the two international imports, the rest of the Dragons are local players. Most of the local players are members of the national team. Advantage is actually on Coach Bong since he handled the Indonesian national team, he has gone against the Malaysians and he know most of the local players.
Mark your calendars for the first home game of the Barracudas against the KL Dragons this coming October 18, 2009 4PM (Sunday).
