Local players impressed with Filipino coach

FILIPINO coach Bong Ramos must be doing a great job for the Brunei Barracudas that most of the local players are impressed with his style.
The Barracudas have been practicing for the last two weeks at the Batu Bersurat court in preparation for the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL), which will start on October 10 in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The Barracudas will kick off their campaign in the region's first professional league against dangerous Singapore Slingers on October 11 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Esmond Tan, the most veteran Bruneian in the Barracudas line up, gave the 48-year-old mentor a thumbs up.
"I feel that I am getting better under coach Bong. I can see myself getting fitter day by day since we started practicing," said Tan, who has been playing for the national team for eight years.
"The plays that coach Bong teach are simple and easy to understand. He focuses more on defense which is important in the game," added the national team captain. Read More…
