BARRACUDAS' captain Francis 'Kiko' Adriano yesterday urged the fans to give the team more time to adjust after their 80-82 loss to the Singapore Slingers on Saturday night at the Indoor Stadium of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas.
It was their second straight defeat at home following their 73-76 loss to the KL Dragons at the same venue last Saturday.
"We are a new team. We are still adjusting but we're already looking forward to more games in the league to improve," said Adriano in an interview with The Brunei Times yesterday.
The Barracudas had led for most of the game against the Slingers but the turn of tides occurred in the third quarter and they squandered their 44-39 lead at halftime to be down 59-62 heading into the final stanza.
"I think that we were unlucky to have lost the game. (Kyle) Jeffers hit that three-pointer at the buzzer and (Al) Vergara came back with another basket that really killed us late in the game," said the 34-year-old Filipino.
