Brunei Barracudas all set to face Singapore Slingers

WITH a few days left before their opening game in the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL), the Barracudas are all set to take it to the court when they face dangerous Singapore Slingers on October 11 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
The Slingers are coming off a 71-65 victory over Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Fiesta Conference champions San Miguel Beermen on Sunday at the Singapore Indoor Stadium which was part of a four-game stint in the Challenge Series.
Bong Ramos, the Filipino coach of the Barracudas, is not intimidated with the Slingers' victory as they have been undergoing intensive training in preparations for their opening game in the ABL.
"I'm not surprised that the Slingers pulled off a victory against the PBA Champions. That's because the Slingers have got very good imports including some of their locals who can really shoot," said Ramos in an interview with The Brunei Times yesterday morning at the Brunei Basketball Association court in Batu Bersurat.
Ramos feels that his team have done their best to be prepared for not only their opening game against the Slingers but for back-to-back games where they will face the KL Dragons in Kuala Lumpur on Oct 14.
"We tried our best to be prepared for the games and from the way I look at it, we're ready with the time that was given to me and the team," said the 48-year-old mentor, who arrived in Brunei on September 15. Read More…
