'New look' but same ol' Barracudas

THE "new look" Brunei Barracudas are virtually out of contention for the Asean Basketball League play-offs after their 72-65 defeat to leaders the Thailand Slammers at the Indoor Stadium of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas last night.
As expected the Brunei team's 'new' local players Ahmad Termizi Hj Nordeen, Md Rahmat Hj Suhaili, Afif Khalidi and Jamri Ramlee, who played briefly in the final quarter had only a minor role in the match as the imports were again made to work for the team.
The four were recruited recently when the team's former local cagers quit en masse on Dec 13.
Chris Kuete led the scoring charts with 21 points to lift the Slammers to victory.
Teammate Jason Lamar Dixon bagged a double-double with 18 points and 15 rebounds, while Attaporn Lertmalaiporn chipped in with 10 points. Read More…
