HAVING to play four straight days in a row was not a problem for Soon Lee/Easyway A as they remained unbeaten with an easy 74-69 victory over Autoexperts.com.bn last night in the second round of the Open Category for the Chung Hwa Middle School (CHMS) Alumni Association 18th Anniversary Basketball tournament.
Soon Lee/Easyway A have now won five straight and last night's win at the Brunei Basketball Association court in Batu Bersurat puts them top of Group B heading into the semi-finals.
Soon Lee/Easyway A, who are made up of several national cagers, had veterans Ben Sim and Jong Guo Zhang lead the way with 18 and 15 points respectively.
Leonard Ong topscored for Autoexperts with 14 points while Goh Kheng Yih and Shim Jan Ting chipped in 13 points each to a losing cause.
Soon Lee/Easyway A came out firing on all cylinders knocking down three straight treys to open up a 9-4 lead with four minutes played. Autoexperts made it a shootout by draining their shots from downtown as well but trailed 15-18 halfway through the opening period. Read More…
