Brunei cagers tell The Brunei Times why they quit the Barracudas.
THEY did it out of love.
The Brunei players on the Barracudas' roster yesterday confirmed that they have quit the team, but said they did it because they loved the team.
The Brunei Times reported on Tuesday that all four local cagers on the team have quit the Barracudas, whose management yesterday labelled the Bruneians as "a disappointment to the country".
But Esmond Tan, Benjamin Lim, Hj Md Badri Hj Suhaili and Lim Aik Hock, who were with the team from the start of the Asean Basketball League in 2009, yesterday said they decided to quit the team so that the Barracudas could improve.
"We didn't walk out on the team and we informed the manager before we stopped training. It isn't about not getting enough playing time. There are only four more games to go and we have sat out on the bench for most of last season and this season," they said in a statement to The Brunei Times. Read More…
