I was lucky having a chance to sit down and talk with Sunil Ramchandani, Maya Silk Emporium Manager/Owner.

Maya Silk Emporium was actually established in 1963 in Kuala Belait (46 years already ey?). They were primarily a textile trading company back then, It wasn't until 1995 when they started their sporting goods section and have since flourished into a multi-branch business. According to him, they import most of their footwear, specially the latest basketball shoes direct from the U.S., "This allows us to carry a much wider range of styles, brands and colours. We now enjoy a prominent place as one of the major basketball footwear retailers in the country." Sunil said.
"Our strength lies in our commitment to excellence. We persevere in providing the latest styles and insist on providing our customers the highest quality. We foresee ourselves as a major player in this business because we shall continue to maintain". He added.

Jordan Men's Ol' School II
Air Jordan Phly - Roman numeral for 1978 (MCMLXXVIII) on the heel tab. As you may know already, the Air Jordan Phly is inspired by Michael Jordan’s high school coach whom he shared a very special bond with. They were created to honor Clifton “Pop” Herring. Pop was Michael Jordan’s coach at Laney who cut him during his sophomore year, but then drove him to school at 6 AM every morning for extra practice in hopes of bettering MJ’s skills for his junior year. You can now find this at Maya Silk Emporium.
