Brunei Select vs Notts 'A' in UK

Brunei Hoops!

A basketball team solely comprised of Bruneian ballers who are currently studying in the UK. The mission was to promote the game of basketball among the Bruneian students there, as well as to show that Brunei can go toe-to-toe with the best basketball players around. According to Wira, (whom i've met online) their record stands at 5-2 since their formation in the early of 2008. Some of the notable members are Mizi a promising young local talent with his killer crossovers (a friend of Chun and Sofian), Zainul (the 6'6" Malay), Elwin Chong and Sei Chean (of the Tumasek team) and Yee Kwang (who played for the Hai Nan Association during the 2008 Sultan's Cup). Good luck to you guys!

Another video blogger in Youtube, Big Ben. A big Tumasek fan has captured clips from last years Aewon Cup. One was the qualifying round vs LorviClean and the other one was the semi final match against Malar Setia. here

Lights Off Brunei for Earth Hour!

Brunei will be "switching off' tonight in support of the Earth Hour 2009 campaign.
The Department of Electrical Services is calling all the public to take the opportunity to be part of this global campaign initiated by World Widelife Fund for Nature.

Organizers want the event to underline public support for government policies to cut greenhouse gases, blamed for global warming. World emissions of carbon dioxide from energy use rose 2.8 percent last year as coal consumption outpaced crude oil and cleaner-burning natural gas

This collective participation from people all over the world to save energy for one hour will start from 8.30pm local time tonight. I’m not sure whether this would affect the game scheds tonight in Batu Bersurat gym.

Shoe shop that never goes out of style
I was lucky having a chance to sit down and talk with Sunil Ramchandani, Maya Silk Emporium Manager/Owner.

February 15, 2009

Maya Silk Emporium was actually established in 1963 in Kuala Belait (46 years already ey?). They were primarily a textile trading company back then, It wasn't until 1995 when they started their sporting goods section and have since flourished into a multi-branch business. According to him, they import most of their footwear, specially the latest basketball shoes direct from the U.S., "This allows us to carry a much wider range of styles, brands and colours. We now enjoy a prominent place as one of the major basketball footwear retailers in the country." Sunil said.

"Our strength lies in our commitment to excellence. We persevere in providing the latest styles and insist on providing our customers the highest quality. We foresee ourselves as a major player in this business because we shall continue to maintain". He added.

Jordan Men's Ol' School II
Air Jordan Phly - Roman numeral for 1978 (MCMLXXVIII) on the heel tab. As you may know already, the Air Jordan Phly is inspired by Michael Jordan’s high school coach whom he shared a very special bond with. They were created to honor Clifton “Pop” Herring. Pop was Michael Jordan’s coach at Laney who cut him during his sophomore year, but then drove him to school at 6 AM every morning for extra practice in hopes of bettering MJ’s skills for his junior year. You can now find this at Maya Silk Emporium.

Shaq's bowling intro tops Lebron's pregame ritual.

Pregame Intros

Shaq might not be able to beat LeBron James on the court anymore. He's not afraid to challenge him when it comes to pregame choreography. Cavs have been having some fun during starting lineup introductions, with James pretending to hold a camera and take a picture of his teammates, who pose in front of their superstar.

Shaq, calling that intro "weak," decided to create his own skit before the Phoenix Suns played the Washington Wizards on Saturday. About 20 feet from six of his teammates, who were lined up in triangle formation, he pretended to roll a bowling ball toward them. Five fell immediately and the player in the middle wobbled before tumbling to the ground. If LeBron takes the challenge, Shaq says he'll have no problem breaking out new material.

"I've got 100 million intros in my abdullah oblongata," O'Neal said.

I think Lebron's camera stuff is better, I’ll let you be the judge…
