Young Once Take Home Title, IMD “B” Gets Third.

GADONG, BSB – The Finals – Bruised but not down, Young Once captured the title in the Above-45 category in a 67-45 win over the tougher and more physical MD SuperKids last night of the 2009 FBA-LBC Cup Basketball Tournament in Batu Bersurat.

Both teams were at their very best on defense with low scoring first period, 12-7 to SuperKids. Second quarter saw Young Once regrouped and made adjustments to end the 1st half, 30-28 in favor to them. 

Ernie Garcia led the charge with 20 points and 13 from Numer Tena. Teody Carandang scored 14 points and Rony Gesmundo had a physical night inside the paint, he added 8 points.

In the earlier match,  IMD Team ‘B’ escaped from Nueva Ecija Patriot’s push in the last period to take the 3rd place of the tournament, 77-69.

Awarding on Sunday together with the Finals of the 7-Star category between ABMS and Palm Garden Cafe.
