Barracudas, Dragons fighting for 4th spot

Thursday, January 14, 2010

THE heat is on for Brunei Barracudas and KL Dragons.

Both teams are fighting for the coveted fourth position in the Asean Basketball League, the final spot in the six-team league which will guarantee them a berth in the playoffs.

Currently in fifth, the Barracudas have three games to prove they are worthy of a place in the playoffs which start on Jan 30.

Losing 98-84 to third-placed Satria Muda BritAma last Sunday, the Barracudas will be looking for their first win against the Indonesians when they face them for the third time at the National Indoor Stadium at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas on Saturday.

Their next game will be against the second-placed Singapore Slingers next Wednesday in what could be their last home game of the season. The Slingers have won both previous encounters.

Four days later, they take to the Ynares Sports Arena in Manila to face table toppers Philippine Patriots in their last regular season game, taking some heart in the fact that they have already beaten them once this season.
