IMD beat SCB to inch closer to semis

ISTANA Maintenance Department (IMD) put one foot into the semi-finals of the Inter-Company NBT Basketball Tournament after an 84-70 victory over Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) in the second round at the Brunei Basketball Association court in Batu Bersurat last night. In what was their second straight win in the Top 8 stage in Group B, Aries Castro had the game-high of 30 points to pace IMD. The duo of Buboy Yu and Robles each added 14 points while Elvin Requintin chipped in 12 in the triumph.
On the other hand, Cavan Kong top scored for SCB with 29 points while Ng Lit How added 23 points in a losing effort.
In a good start to the matchup, Castro was the main man for IMD scoring 10 points in the opening period.
On the other side, Kong had the hot hands from behind the arc for three treys in the quarter for nine points resulting in SCB taking a 23-20 advantage going into the second period. Read More…
