Mike Pilgrim WAS IT just a bad day or was Mike Pilgrim in some discomfort on Sunday when he recorded only 12 points and five rebounds during the Barracudas' 73-76 defeat to the KL Dragons in their ASEAN Basketball League match in Berakas?

According to a popular Brunei blog, Pilgrim said that "he ran out of fuel as he didn't eat that much on Sunday".

The American was superb when the Barracudas beat the Dragons in Kuala Lumpur last Wednesday scoring 22 points and registering five rebounds. But he was not the same player at the weekend looking somewhat listless.

Could hunger have hampered Pilgrim's performance on Sunday?

Barracudas coach Bong Ramos said Pilgrim just had a bad day at the office, quickly dismissing the American's statement as a joke.

"It is not true about him having not eaten much. I believe that it is a joke," said Ramos when contacted yesterday.

"Mike was in foul trouble so we had to sit him down much of the game but even if he was playing it didn't mean that we would have won the game," added Ramos. Read More…
