More photos of the tournament here.

"Sometimes you just feel tired. You feel weak. And when you feel weak, you feel like you wanna just give up. But you gotta search within you, gotta find that inner strength and just pull that shit out of you, and get that motivation to not give up, and not be a quiter, no matter how bad you wanna just fall flat on your face and collapse. This is streeball, leave your excuses at home."

Wildcats: Bring On Ford!
Wildcats second trip to the Finals. Ford's first ever.

Can the cats maintain their aggressiveness on both ends of the floor after last nights qualifying game? Or will they be affected of fatigue and succumbed from Ford's inside presence in Sonny Bautista? Or will Ford chokes from the cats tireless defense?

Gametime:9:30pm

GILR Wildcats never gave Renegade a chance to get that close all the while with all its players contributing to maintain their lead. Sugnan, Espique, Perez, Vinas and Katipunan fired from every opportunity to maintain their average lead of 10 points.

A short rally by the dynamic duo of Viray and Alpon early in the fourth quarter reducing the lead to within 7 points did not dampen the Wildcats resolve to go into the finals. The final score id 76-61. More photos by Maui here

Ford clinches the first finals slot for Sunday by overpowering Edli Bobcats, 101-91. Ford relied heavily on Sonny Bautista and Magaan scoring 32 and 20 points respectively.
Ford vs Bobcats
Bobcats piled up early on personal fouls making them helpless to put up a tight defense as early as the second period.

Noel Grafil put the Bobcats closer by 1 point from a 9 point deficit through consecutive triples in the 3rd period but the whole Bobcats team were helpless in the final period because of foul trouble.

At the end of the game, Bobcats have shown the right gesture how to lose a friendly game and congratulating the whole Ford team in their trip to the finals.

Edli Bobcats put on a surprising show last night leading all the way to beat top favourite Queenielin. Queenielin gained advantage by 3 points in the last 2 minutes of the final quarter after trailing most of the time. Consecutive baskets by Jeff Paraiso sealed the win for them and Queenielin conceded victory to Bobcats in the last 8 seconds of the final period. Final score at 84-82.

Ford also took the second semi-final slot after an all out performance by Sonny Bautista winning over M-Image at 80-65.

Hua Ho put up a brave stand in the 2nd game last night overtaking Bobcats early in the 3rd quarter by four points. It was a great performance from Hua Ho who had never given up till the finish and had almost caught up again with Bobcats from a 12 point deficit to 7 points in the final period from a couple of 3 pointers from Padrigue. Hua Ho’s cheerful supporters provided the excitement at every play of last night’s game. Hua Ho’s participation in the friendly games has endeared them to the local spectators considering their players are not stars from local tournaments. Support provided by management and staff rarely seen in local games is also admired.

Rafah also gave Queenielin a scare with the score deadlock a few times from a splendid performance by Ariel Esposo who was limping from a sprained ankle with support from Evangelista and Palma.

Hua Ho fresh from a recent win in Group B will shoot for the quarterfinals in a Group B match against the Bobcats. If Hua Ho wins tonight, a 3-way tie will ensue between Hua Ho, Land Bank and Bobcats in Group B. Hua Ho is expected to come in full force tonight. Last night, M-Image assured its place in the quarterfinals after winning over Land Bank, 66-55. Myke Nuguid ably supported by Olivar(8pts), Johari, Hombria, Rosete and Tero (all 6pts) gave the tandem of Puno, Enopia and Esteban of M-Image a hard time before succumbing in the final period.

Ford had an easy win over Skyscrapers, 78-56 but had to wait for the result of tonight’s knock-out game between Queenielin and Rafah to assure their position in the quarter-finals.

Nobody noticed him silently slipping back in the final minutes of the game after sitting in the bench for most of the last 3 quarters. Afima had been ahead most of the time even without key player Efren Espiritu. Bernie Toledo in his prime can easily sink in 3 pointers at will but with a score at 50-all in the last remaining 4-5 seconds of the game, nobody thought he still had it and his coach could only spare him few playing minutes. That final moment after receiving the pass for the last shot, he aimed and fired at the basket, a thundering applause filled the gym. Bernie Toledo has done it again. Final score at 53-50.

In the second game, the depleted lineup of GILR Wildcats minus Rollin Castillo and Allan Talanay had trouble in the early moments of the game being scoreless at 10-0 against a complete Archmedia lineup whose main stars were reinstated by the Committee out of the spirit of the Friendly Games. Unfortunately, Archmedia lost focus and instead concentrated on fault finding rather than making adjustments to preserve their key players who were in foul trouble and losing Roldan Binas halfway the final period. The Final score, 65-61.

Hua Ho’s hardworking team and cheerful supporters delights the Friendly Games last night as they came in full force to support their players who had shown great sportsmanship in the friendly games. The inspired Hua Ho team won over Jaja Sing Hiap Hin, 51-39. In the first game, Rafah still chasing for the quarterfinals had won over Magic, 74-66.

Afima dominated B-Mobile last night, 101-69 on a 1st quarter romp when B-Mobile’s key players were nowhere to be seen. Afima immediately erected a 9 point cushion and further strenghtened their lead in the 2nd Quarter by 20 points at 56-36 from Chin’s fourth 3-point sniping. Efren Espiritu was at his best last night showing his defensive prowess and two amazing slam dunks drawing applause from the crowd.
By virtue of the 3-way tie in Group C, Archmedia also joins Afima in the quarterfinals
Renegade also affirms their entry in the quarterfinals by subduing a hardworking Zizznaa team, 65-38.

Earlier in the Afima-B Mobile game, Archmedia player Roldan Binas has issued his apology for his unsportmanlike conduct during the Archmedia-B Mobile game.

Ford and Land Bank won on separate games inching closer for a place in the quarterfinals. The committee appreciates Magic’s acceptance of defeat and their brave effort to congratulate the other team for their victory. Both teams played fairly in the true spirit of sportsmanship.

The two best games so far played in the most friendly manner is last night’s Ford vs magic and previously between Archmedia and Afima. The Committee wish to see more such friendly and exciting games.

Rafah had a nail biting finish against Skyscrapers with both teams playing a knock out game to remain a contender. Rafah won in the end, 75-73. M-Image also had a difficult time on stubborn Hua Ho squad who lead most in the first 3 Quarters but lost steam in the final period, 72-55. M-Image leads in Group B with Edli Bobcats.
