UNIVERSITI BRUNEI DARUSSALAM (UBD) A retained their title in the UBD Cup 2009 basketball tournament after defeating Chung Hwa Middle School (CHMS) Bandar 82-48 in the final at the UBD Sports Complex situated at Tungku Link.

The game started out slow as both teams seemed shaky and had trouble scoring. UBD A didn't look the side that defeated Sekolah Menengah Sayyidina Ali (SMSA KB) in the semifinals as there was poor ball movement on offence and their defence wasn't as tenacious. CHMS Bandar looked nervous coming into the game. UBD A managed to edge ahead at the end of a low scoring first quarter at 8-6.
