Easyway Qlap book final date

EASYWAY QLAP put up a strong performance to defeat Easyway Bunut 78-71 in their semi-final match last night for a date with favourites, White Haven, in the final of the Under-23 category of the Basketball Youth Cup at the Brunei Basketball Association court in Batu Bersurat.

Siblings Choo Yung Jian and Choo Yung Kang led Easyway Qlap with 28 points and 20 points respectively.

On the other hand, Joven Umali topscored for Easyway Bunut with 16 points and Jon Lee contributed 15.

Easyway Qlap got off to a quick start firing on all cylinders while their opponents had no rhythm going at the offensive end.

This helped Easyway Qlap to open up a double-digit lead at 28-13 heading into the second quarter.

Easyway Bunut relied on their speed to go on fastbreaks off their opponents' turnovers.

Easyway Qlap were relying on their outside shooting, but allowed Easyway Bunut to claw back into the game reducing the deficit to 26-28 midway through the second period.

However, Easyway Qlap regrouped and held on to take a 40-35 advantage at halftime.

Despite having only six players in their squad, Easyway Qlap came out a rejuvenated side after the interval extending their lead to a 55-40 cushion midway through the stanza.
