Youth Cup: Easyway Bunut finish third

EASYWAY BUNUT defeated Seri Bangar Temburong 71-57 in a high intensity third-place playoff last night of the Under-23 category of the Basketball Youth Cup at the Brunei Basketball Association court in Batu Bersurat.
Easyway Bunut gave a team performance five of their players were in double-digit.
Siblings Hj Md Rahmat and Hj Md Badri Hj Suhaili led Easyway Bunut with 17 and 15 points respectively.
On the other hand, Foo Gwen Tong had a game-high 22 points for Seri Bangar Temburong and Ong Su Meng chipped in 16 points to a losing cause.
Both teams got off to a slow start with the scoreboard reading 6-2 in favour of Easyway Bunut. Seri Bangar Temburong were going on fastbreaks but Easyway Bunut matched their intensity by running back on defence to deny their opponents.
Easyway Bunut had the height and size advantage which made life difficult for Seri Bangar Temburong at the offensive end and they were down 8-18 heading into the second quarter.
Easyway Bunut were dominating the boards and quickly extended their lead to 31-10 midway through the period.
Seri Bangar Temburong were dismal at the offensive end as the shots were not falling for them.
They switched to man-to-man defence towards the end of the period but had a 13-35 deficit to overturn at halftime. Read More...
