THE Philippine Patriots try to keep their winning streak when they face off against Satria Muda BritAma today in their Asean Basketball League (ABL) match at the Fil Oil Flying V Arena in the Philippines.

The game is scheduled to tip off at 4pm.

The Patriots now have 13 points with seven games played with a league best 6-1 win-loss record with their only loss against the Singapore Slingers on October 18.

The team has never lost since the arrival of coach Louie Alas after he completed his duties with the Letran Knights in the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA). The Filipino coach brought along with him Nonoy Baclao, Elmer Espiritu and Val Acuna that have made the team one of the favourites to win the league at this stage.

Meanwhile, Satria Muda are on a 4-4 record and are tied in second place with the Slingers with 12 points. In their previous meetings, the Patriots came on on top on opening day with a 76-69 triumph at the BritAma Arena on Oct 10 while their second meeting once again saw the Patriots win 74-56 at the Fil Oil Flying V Arena on Nov 21.

Both the Patriots and Satria Muda are riding off victories against the Thailand Tigers with the Patriots winning at home with a 77-61 scoreline on Dec 1 while Satria Muda beat them at home 77-71 on Nov 28.

The Slingers will hope to bounce back in next game against the Thailand Tigers on Monday at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

The Slingers have a 5-2 record with their last game being a surprising 74-84 home loss to the KL Dragons on Nov 22.

The Dragons and Tigers are tied with 10 points with the Tigers having played a game more as well. The Dragons have a 3-4 record while the Tigers are on 3-5. The Barracudas are at the bottom of the table with nine points having two wins in seven games.

The Barracudas will be facing the Dragons in their next game at the Indoor Stadium of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex on Wednesday.

It will be the third time that the Barracudas and the Dragons are meeting.
